Well... I went for a ride the other day and guess what... about 11 miles out on a 21 mile out and back ride... my bottom bracket stripped out. I was able to ride out the rest of it luckily. But here is where we are at now. I have no bicycle and the training program starts tomorrow. So I will need to complete my miles on another bike in the mean time. But what are we going to do about me not having a road bike to train on so that I can achieve my goal of mileage and the new TT goal that I have set for myself. Well... I have the answer to that as well. Stay tuned... and you to can know the answer.
You can see the cup on this side of the bottom bracket, just lost threading.
The threads on the inside of the frame are clearly damaged.
You can see here, the threads on the cup to the bottom bracket are just gone. Notice that in the second picture the flat part of the frame is painted. That should be flush with the cups on the bottom bracket. We are confused if it was taken off, painted, and the put back on? Or what? I have called the person who did the paint job, and I have informed of the issues at hand at this time. However, I cannot personally be sure of any repayment at this time. So now I have all the parts for a bike, but not frame. I even have a replacement bottom bracket ALREADY!!! Let's see what we can come up with for an answer.

Cables, Shifters, and housings; what you need to know.
I have really been trying to use up some cable housing that I had laying around. I decided to do some recent cabling on my TEAM HBD bike. However, what no one saw is that I used brake cable housing on the shifter cables. This is a real big mistake that I don't recommend doing. Now that I have been taught by my friends and co-workers at the store, use the right housings for the right application. Here is a point of reference in case you need the information as well.

New road pedals & shoe changes...
These pedals came with this bike, but I had never used them before. This should be interesting for sure. Turns out the silver pair of Louis Garneau was the pair my buddy James had set aside. I ended up with them because he did not put his name on them. However, I took them back to him and he was happy. I decided to buy the other Mavic Road shoe that was available, even though I had just busted up the head mechanic about them being women's shoes. My thoughts now are that women wear men's things, why can't we wear theirs? Especially if they fit and are SUPER NICE!!! I bought them and plan to wear them with my next bike. For now I have decided we are going to ride 4200 miles in the black pair that I got. Then once we reach this goal through training and racing, we will be buying a whole new road bike. But we will have to reach this goal of 4200 miles first! Thoughts?

Shoe Sale!!!
I found out a few days ago that there was going to be a big sale on cycling shoes at the store. I even got a look at a few pair. Lets just say the sale was good to me, and here is what I got for the family. 3 pair for myself, and 2 for Annette. 2 pair of Louis Garneau road cycling shoes (first pic) for me, and 1 pair of Mavic RUSH mountain biking shoe (second pic). For Annette 1 pair of Shimano (third pic) for mountain and 1 pair of Mavic for mountain (forth pic). I had a selection... so I chose some nice ones. Take a look!

Bike parts run...
Just needed to get a few things @ the shop, & of course talk about my new bike paint job, right?

New PAINTJOB!!!
Just got this thing from the painter Chris. Took a little bit of time because Chris is a really busy guy... but it looks pretty sweet... check it out! I have to put my normal pedals back on... and put new cables, and give this thing a full cleaning and tune-up... then we can ride for sure!
