Replacement Frame

Just in case anyone stops by regularly, I had to buy a new bike and/or frame so that I could replace the broken one.  Of course the painter is going to reimburse me for the cost of the frame, but it is still a headache to have to deal with replacing and rebuilding.  Here are a few photos of the new frame and fork that are the equivalent replacement to the old frame.

Since the frame of the red HikeBikeDale.com is out of commission, a few things have changed.  First thing I did was borrow a friends carbon road bike and that worked pretty good, albeit that it was a little small.  I will post a few pics of that super cool ride after this post.  However, I have bought a new ride, and just built it today and test rode it this afternoon. I am quite pleased with the outcome.  Here are 2 nostalgic photos of the 1st team bike.  The painter decided to help me out with the cost of the replacement frame, so that bike is going to built up with the old parts on it.

I KNEW IT!!! 1 X 11 SRAM drivetrain!!!

Well... looks like SRAM beat me to the punch.  My 1 x 9 drivetrain that I am now running is working well.  Other than specific applications where a larger chainring is needed.  However, with the NEW system shown in this article by SRAM, the offer multiple front chainring sizes.  ROCK!
